Our family run, rural activity centre specialises in earth centric learning and offers a hands on context for delivery of the school curriculum in a relaxed and friendly setting - ideal for a school activity week, school trips and teacher inset days.

As holders of enhanced CRB checks we have worked with many schools across Staffordshire and Cheshire and have vast experience working with teachers and schools to tailor make bespoke activities and itineraries. Our activities can include willow workshops, bushcraft and survival, team building and ecological activities that provide children with extended opportunities to work both together and individually to learn through nature.

All of our activities are flexible to the specific needs of the school and can be combined with the national curriculum, the relevant key stage, a school theme or can be tailored to focus on issues such as ecology, farming, biodiversity and environmental education.

All of our activities are carefully planned and risk assessed to ensure the safety of all participants at all times.

Pikemere Primary School: Fun Day at The Redstone Centre

We had the children of Pikemere Primary School visit our training centre recently for a fun day of educational activities including willow weaving and team building. The children had a great time!

The order of the day was:

  • Walk through the Willow Beds
  • Snack
  • Treasure Hunt in the Hayfield - 4 groups of children were each given a list of 26 natural items to find including including willow fish, ivy leaves, oak leaves, ash leaves, willow circles and pine cones. They did this in their houses as a team building exercise.
  • Willow Lanterns - They then made willow lanterns and willow bells inside.
  • Lunch
  • Willow Memory Catchers- in 4 groups, weaving in the natural treasures they found on the treasure hunt
  • Walk around the Lavender Labyrinth
  • Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows

When they had finished weaving they did the Lavender Labyrinth. It was explained to them that this was not a maze but a way of giving their minds a rest.
