Newspaper Bridge Build Team Building Activity

This exercise is a participative challenge to develop team working, leadership, communication and co-operative working. It also highlights the requirement of teams to deliver what they commit to delivering.
 
This exercise can be run for groups of 6 or more, dividing the group in to as many teams as required to ensure individual team sizes of between 3 (minimum) and 6 (maximum) people.
 
The group is told an imaginary scenario involving a competition which invites teams to design and build a bridge from newspaper - to span between 2 chairs.
 
The winning team will be the team that not only creates an aesthetically pleasing and functional bridge, but most importantly, delivers what they say they are going to deliver, on time and in budget!
 
Approx Timing: 40 minutes - 20 minutes design and specification, 20 minutes building the bridge.
 
 
The timing can be altered if required so that each team has longer to design and prepare their presentation, and/or to build their bridge.
